| House price increases The Nationwide building society has announced that house prices have risen by 6% over the past year. Average house prices are now at the same level as September 2009. According to the RICS there are far fewer quality properties for sale causing a demand on housing. Together with the low Bank of England interest rates this has lead to this surprising re-bound in house prices. Most experts agree that 2010/11 is going to be another tough year for house prices with government incentive schemes stopping, a general election and projected higher interest rates. However with many development projects stalled housing demand in 2010/11 is set to be at an all time high. |
